Septic tank deaths in Odisha

Three septic tank deaths in Odisha shocked people on Wednesday. As many as three people died due to asphyxiation in Rayagada district of Odisha.

An incident occurred in Tarpaguda village of Guluguda panchayat in Padmapur police station of Rayagada district. Three people died of suffocation while removing the centring of a newly constructed toilet tank.

One after other, they went down into the tank to clean the toilet tank of Biswanath Barik and remove the centring. However, they were found to have suffocated inside the tank.

The deceased have been identified as Harishchandra Veer, Alok Kara and Prakash Lima of Jivajagatpur village of Padmapur block. It was found that a mechanic was among the deceased.

After the incident, the Padmapur fire brigade reached the spot and rescued three people from the tank. They were immediately taken to the Padmapur community health center (CHC).  However, the doctors there declared all of them dead.

On the other hand, the real reason will be clear after the investigation.  It is yet to be known  how this incident happened and under what circumstances the three people died in the tank.
