All the schools closed in Khordha district of Odisha. The categories include Primary and Upper Primary Schools, High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools including Government, Government Aided, OAVs, Private schools under Khordha District will be closed from 30th July 1 PM to 31 July, 2026.
The letter read as follows, “Regarding preparedness and precautionary measures to tackle the imminent flood
situation.”
The letter issued to the Block education Officers by the Collector and DM Khordha read, “With reference to the subject cited above, I am directed to inform you that precautionary measures need to be taken to tackle the imminent flood situation.”
The notice clearly said regarding the schools closed in Khordha, “The following measures are to be taken strictly for impending flood situation: All types of Primary & Upper Primary Schools / High Schools/ Higher Secondary Schools including Govt/ Govt Aided/ OAVs/ Private schools under Khordha District will be closed from 30th July 1 PM to 31 July.”
The letter further added, “Step should be taken to serve MDM early on 30th July so that schools are to be closed by 1 PM for students only. The teachers and other staff will stay at school as usual. No CL will be allowed for the next 4 days. Steps must be taken to make the school building and other necessary facilities be in readiness.”
Further, “Roster duty must be arranged by the HMs to make the school open for 24 X 7 and cooperation to the district administration must be ensured at any point of time.”
The notice of schools closed in Khordha concluded by saying, “Therefore, you are requested to intimate the above facts to Headmasters/Principals of all types of Schools of Khordha District for taking above steps immediately to tackle upcoming flood situation. There will be zero tolerance for any lapses of responsibility in this regard.”
It is worth mentioning here that, “the flood in Odisha has now become a matter of concern for the government as over two lakh people across six districts have already been affected. According to the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha, “more than two lakh three thousand people in 748 villages have been affected, as many as 28 thousand residents have been evacuated.”
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed as many as three deaths including that of a fire service personnel have been reported due to flood situation in Odisha.
