Amid rising water level in various rivers across the state the government is working on war footing for food rescue in Odisha. Official sources have shared various posts on X regarding the flood rescue in Odisha.

The Odisha CM has shared a post on X in Odia that roughly translates as, “Relief and rescue operations are continuing on a war footing in the affected areas due to heavy rainfall and flooding in various regions of the state.” The post further read, “Cooked food and drinking water are being provided to the people. The administration is fully alert and dedicated to ensure that no family faces any inconvenience. We are always with you.”

In another post about the food rescue in Odisha on X the CM said, “In the flood-affected areas of the state, the highest priority is being given to the lives and safety of the people, and assistance is being provided through relief camps set up at various locations.”

The post clearly mentioned, “Along with the immediate rescue of people from the flood-hit areas, hot cooked food, purified drinking water, and emergency medical facilities through health service centers are being ensured in the camps. The government is fully committed to reaching assistance to every citizen during this crisis.”

As a precautionary measure the government has declared that all schools in Khordha, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts shall remain closed on Friday. However the leaves of all the employees has been cancelled.

It is worth mentioning here that, “the flood in Odisha has now become a matter of concern for the government as over two lakh people across six districts have already been affected. According to the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha, “more than two lakh three thousand people in 748 villages have been affected, as many as 28 thousand residents have been evacuated.”

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari informed as many as three deaths including that of a fire service personnel have been reported due to flood situation in Odisha.
