There has been a sword attack in Bhubaneswar ahead of the upcoming Ganesh Puja festivities. The attack is centered around dada bati (extortion money).
According to reports, a miscreant attacked a shopkeeper with a sword as the former refused to pay dada bati for the upcoming Ganesh Puja. The incident took place under the Bharatpur police station jurisdiction. The miscreant was also stopping vehicles on the road and asking for money.
Later reports said that, the miscreant allegedly chased and attacked a man when he refused to pay up. The victim was admitted to a private hospital in a serious condition. After that a complaint was filed at the Bharatpur police station, the police have started an investigation in this regard.
The CCTV footage of the surrounding area has been examined. Further detailed reports awaited in this regard.
