Hotel fire in West Bengal

There has been a hotel fire in West Bengal in which as many as eight people have been charred to death. The incident took place on Monday.

According to reports, the hotel fire in West Bengal occurred likely due to a short circuit. Taking to X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief and wrote, “Anguished to hear about the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Birbhum, West Bengal. I extend my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. The local administration is assisting those affected in the mishap.”

The PM also announced compensation and wrote, “In the wake of the mishap in Birbhum, West Bengal, PM  has announced Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.”

It is worth mentioning here that, the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team reached the site in Tarapith, Birbhum where eight deaths occurred due to a short circuit at a hotel. An investigation is underway in this regard, further detailed reports awaited.
