FDA issues notice to Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Devgan and Tiger Shroff over their association with a Vimal Elaichi advertisement. The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a show cause as the Vimal Elaichi advertisement seems like surrogate promotion of Vimal Pan Masala.

The notice issued by the FDA read, “Show Cause Notice under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder, regarding participation and endorsement/promotional support of advertisements relating. to “VIMAL” brand Pan Masala / Elaichi, in violation of the provisions of the said Act and the Rules and Regulations notified thereunder.”

“Section 24 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as “the FSS Act, 2006″) provides for restrictions on advertisement and prohibition as to unfair trade practices relating to food, and prohibits advertisements which are misleading or which contravene the provisions of the said Act and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder,” the notice to Shahrukh Khan and the other two actors further read.

It us worth mentioning here that, Ajay Devgn was served with the notice at his residence in Juhu, while Shahrukh Khan was served at Mannat in Bandra and Tiger Shroff was issued the notice through his production company.

The notice, sought explanations from the three actors over their participation in the campaign and the way in which the Vimal brand bas been presented. Further details awaited in this regard.
