Elephants in Keonjhar district of Odisha creates several issues for locals, protest staged on National Highway. Villagers blocked National Highway Number 220 to protest against the damage caused by elephants.
According to reports, elephants in Keonjhar are troubling farmers. They are worried about how they will protect their crops from elephants.
Further reports add, in Mangalpur village of Patnarenj, a herd of 26 elephants have been roaming around the village for the past 15 days. They are destroying crops and breaking doors of house.
Meanwhile, the elephants are not stopping the destruction the villagers, overwhelmed by the violence, have finally blocked the highway. The police have reached the spot and are trying to negotiate with the people.
