CyberShakti Programme a means by way of which the Central Government aims to strengthens cyber security capacity of women officials. 32 women government employees from Odisha have already been trained since 2024.
Reports say, the Government has taken note of the recommendation of the 2026 Standing Committee Report on the Empowerment of Women to scale up the CyberShakti programme.
Further, the programme was approved for a period of two years starting from October 2024 with the objective of enhancing cyber security awareness and strengthening cyber security skills among women government officials. The second phase of the project is recommended by the working group on Cyber Security in May 2026.
A total of 978 women government officials including women police officers, cyber cell personnel and women officials dealing with victims of cybercrimes have been trained under the CyberShakti programme since its inception in 2024 through two-week Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) mode online training programme and one-week offline residential training programme.
As many as 32 women government employees from Odisha have already been a part of it since 2024. It is worth mentioning here that, this information was submitted by Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada in Rajya Sabha.
