The Aerial survey by Odisha CM Mohan Majhi of flood affected areas was undertaken today.
The CM shared an X post on the visit and wrote, “During this flood disaster, the protection of life and property of the people of the state is not only the responsibility of the government, it is my top priority.”
He added, “Today, along with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari and Special Relief Commissioner, I reviewed the situation of more than 12 affected blocks of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts from the sky.”
The CM further informed, “So far, 2.69 lakh people in the flood-affected areas have been shifted to safer places. 17 ODRAF, 7 NDRF and 129 fire brigade teams are engaged in rescue operations day and night. Cooked and dry food, clean drinking water and medical services are being provided in the 700 relief camps that have been opened.”
“Rs. 26 crore has been sanctioned from SDRF for emergency relief and rescue operations. Within 3 days of the receding flood waters, an assessment of the damage will be done and immediate assistance packages will be provided to the affected farmers and families whose houses have been destroyed. It has also directed the administration to be vigilant in repairing damaged roads and controlling health problems after the flood.” the CM added.
He concluded and reassured that, “Your government stands firmly with you at every moment. Follow the instructions of the local administration and rescue teams, stay in safe places and extend a helping hand to each other.”
