The Odisha Government on Saturday approved 11 cabinet proposals of six departments. The information about the accepted proposals was given by Anu Garg, the Chief Secretary to Government of Odisha from Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The I&PR Department informed about the cabinet proposals passed via an X post that read, “Today’s 45th meeting of the State Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. In the meeting, 11 proposals from 6 departments have been approved after discussion.”

Further, “1 from Finance Department, 1 from Law Department, 1 from Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Department, 1 from Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, 2 from Housing and Urban Development Department, and 5 proposals from Water Resources Department are included.”

It is worth mentioning here that among the cabinet proposals passed the important proposals were: four major irrigation projects, amendments to the GST Act, the launch of the Chief Minister’s Tribal Livelihood Mission 2.0, and the Odisha State Legal Services Cadre Rules, 2026.

Mukhyamantri Janajati Mission 2.0 was approved under which outlay of Rs. 2,995 crore to support  lakh Tribal and PVTG households across 19 districts over five years. Two Integrated Anandpur Barrage distribution packages worth 258.23 crore approved to expand irrigation in Balasore district.

Two clusters under the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme worth 367.99 crore approved to create irrigation potential over 11,750 hectares. Farm Mechanisation Scheme extended for five years with an estimated outlay of *2,200 crore, targeting 3.79 lakh farmers.

PMAY-(U) BANDHU approved with an outlay of Rs. 1,615 crore to complement PMAY-U 2.0 and support affordable urban housing.
Amendments to the Odisha GST Act, 2017 approved to simplify refund procedures and align with GST Council recommendations.

Odisha State Legal Service (OSLS) Cadre Rules, 2026 approved to streamline cadre management under the Law Department. Cabinet further approved amendments to the Odisha Development Authorities Act, 1982 to enable the creation of Economic Region Development Authorities (ERDAs) for integrated regional planning.
