Waiting period for LPG refill booking reduced to 25 days in both urban and rural areas. This news was confirmed by Minister Suressh Gopi on his official Facebook page.
According to reports, the Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India Suressh Gopi said, “Considering the pressure in LPG distribution in the wake of the Middle East conflict, the interval for refill booking was 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas.”
He further added that, “But as the current LPG distribution situation has improved and the refill backlog has decreased significantly, the central government has eased this restriction. Now, all domestic LPG customers can book refill within 25 days intervals, irrespective of city-village difference.”
Recently a clarification had been issued by the Government on the waiting period for LPG refill, “It has come to the notice of the Government that certain news reports and social media posts are claiming revised LPG refill booking timelines that is 45 days for PMUY connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double bottle connections.”
“It is clarified that no such changes have been made. The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be: 25 days in urban areas, and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of connection type,” Suressh Gopi added.
He further added, “Citizens are advised not to believe or circulate such misinformation and to avoid unnecessary or panic booking of LPG refills. It is reiterated that adequate LPG stocks are available in the country, and there is no cause for concern.”
