Delhi building collapse

In the Delhi building collapse update, the Delhi Government has suspended the MCD Deputy Commissioner, Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer.

In the Satya Niketan building collapse, the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the incident took place due to the building owner’s negligence. The building is a very old structure. The pillars collapsed because the basement had become waterlogged.

The CM added that, action has already been taken regarding this building, and proceedings will be initiated against the owner. Furthermore, she added that, any other dangerous buildings in the vicinity will be identified and demolished.

The Delhi Government has evacuated the building located directly behind the one that collapsed. It will be demolished with immediate effect, reports said.

The Delhi Police released the names of people who have died in the Delhi building collapse. They have been identified as Abhishek, Yuvraj Soni, Pawan, Arpit Jahaj, Akshat Singh Yadav, Surinder Singh, and one unidentified man succumbed to their injuries. The list of injured persons includes Asgar Ali, Neeraj Bawa, Aditya Kumar, Nitish Chib and Md. Ayan.

According to latest updates, the rescue and relief operations by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Delhi’s Satya Niketan building collapse site have concluded.

Further, in connection with the Satya Niketan building collapse case, Delhi Police have arrested the building owner Hariram, his wife Urmila, and their son Mahesh.
