Jagannath temple to remain closed

Visuals of Srimandir viral yet again, this has raised various questions. People are questioning as to how safe the highly popular temple of Lord Jagannath in Puri really. Several others are questioning the safety of the devotees visiting the age-old shrine.

The viral visuals of Srimandir shows the changing of the flag of the temple. It can be clearly seen in the viral visual that the shot has been taken from the inner part of the temple (bhitara bedha). It is reported that it was posted by an account with the handle called ‘kruttika_karpe2017’.

It is worth mentioning here that since the past few days, videos of the inside of the temple have been repeatedly coming to the fore on social media. Which has increased concerns about the security system of the temple.

The major question that is being raised is that how did someone manage to take the phone inside the temple in spite of so many checks and barriers. After this incident, dissatisfaction and dissent has risen in the minds of the devotees. They are questioning their own safety and the safety of the temple.

Notably, there were several instances of people wearing smart glasses and recording almost every part of the Puri Jagannath temple. The police is investigating into the matter. Further details awaited.
