Anti-ragging policy in Odisha has been strengthened further, the Higher Education Department has issued a letter in this regard. The Anti-ragging policy in Odisha shall be more organized and systematic.
The letter has further directed the institutions under the Higher Education Department to reconstitute the anti-ragging committees. It also added to reconstitute all other major committees within a span of seven days of receiving the letter.
The directive also said that, a further Office Order shall be issued indicating the details. The details include name, designation, role, mobile number, official email address and tenure of each member.
The letter read, “The reconstituted Committees/Cells shall be fully functional and prepared to receive and address complaints, grievances and student-support matters from the very beginning of the Academic Session 2026-27.” All the details are to be uploaded on the Higher Education Information Management System (HIMS) portal on priority basis.
The letter also said that squads shall be formed and surprise inspections shall be made in colleges and universities relating to the adherence of the above mentioned directives.
