Several tons of Hilsa caught in Odisha off the coast of Bay of Bengal. Tourists and locals have gathered in large numbers to see the huge catch of fish. It has been revealed that more than 30 tons of Hilsa fish has been unloaded at the fish landing center.

Such a huge catch of Hilsa fish has been seen after a long time. This has led to a wave of joy among the trawler owners, fishermen and traders.

It is worth noting here that, the Hilsa caught in Odisha will be priced at around Rs. 600 to Rs. 1,300 depending on the size and weight of the fish. There is a high demand among traders for large-sized Hilsa. Due to this huge catch, the supply of Hilsa to various places in Odisha and West Bengal has been initiated.

According to fishermen, due to incessant rains and favorable weather, the Hilsa fish in the deep sea have come towards the shore. Especially at the river mouth or confluence where fresh water of the river meets salt water of the sea. A large number of fish are caught in the nets at this time as the Hilsas swim to the river mouth to lay eggs.

Fishermen have called this the best fish catch of the current season. They are hopeful that if the weather remains favorable, more Hilsa will be caught in the next few days. As Hilsa is available in abundance in the market after a long time, people are waiting to buy and eat this delicious fish.
