According to reliable reports, snakebite in Nanadankanan zoohas led to the only rare pair of Marmorset monkeys. The two and only Geoffroy’s marmosets from the Monkey World area were found dead.
These were the only pair in the zoo. Following their death, there has been an extinction in this species of monkeys in the Nanadankanan zoo in Bhubaneswar. The snake somehow managed to slip into the enclosure and attacked the two marmosets.
It is worth mentioning here that, the enclosure of these two monkeys was carefully made to prevent any attack. Yet this incident has shocked animal lovers. However, the zoo authorities are yet to comment on the matter.
