Raid on sweet shops in Bhubaneswar ahead of festive season, especially Rakhi, to check on paneer and milk quality. With the recent news of use of analogue paneer in sweets, the BMC is conducting strict checks.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation is leaving no stone unturned to keep a check. Strict action against the use of adulterated paneer and milk in sweet shops in Bhubaneswar.
Reports said that a raid on sweet shops in Bhubaneswar was conducted by the health team of BMC. The quality of milk and paneer used by the shops to make sweets to keep up with the demands of the festive season was checked and questioned.
The team is keeping a close eye on whether the paneer is made using chemicals and unhealthy methods. The Health Department is checking the quality of curd, paneer and other food items used in the preparation of sweets.
It has been reported that, if there is any violation of rules or low quality goods are found, samples will be collected and action will be taken as per the law. Since the demand for sweets increases during the festival, this crackdown is being carried out to stop the sale of fake curd and paneer. BMC has said that strict action will be taken against traders who use fake paneer in Bhubaneswar.
With the raids and crackdown, it seems as if paneer has disappeared from the markets. Vegetarian menus are being made sans paneer dishes. As a result, the common people and restaurant owners are at their wits end on how to manage the crisis.
