In view of the heavy rain, the district collectors had announced a two-day school closure in some districts. The academic year is being affected due to the closure of schools due to repeated heavy rain.
Along with this, the education of children is also being hampered. Therefore, if necessary, additional classes will be held to meet the shortage of education, the minister said while informing about the likely Odisha school holiday extension
On the other hand, it is worth mentioning here that many areas of South Odisha have been affected due to heavy rain. The situation is especially worrying in Malkangiri district. There are reports of water flowing over four bridges in the district.
People are being rescued from the affected areas. However, the minister said that there has been no significant damage so far. The Panchayati Raj Minister informed that the he had visited Malkangiri to assess the situation. Now the main goal of the administration is to safely rescue the affected people and monitor the rain-related damage situation.
