Odisha Couple missing in Nepal flash floods as the State Government issues helpline numbers for other missing people and assistance thereof. Reports say that more than 700 people are missing in the deluge that took place in Nepal on August 26.
According to reports, an Odisha Couple missing in Nepal flash floods has come top the fore. The State Government has created a 24×7 helpdesk in Delhi and issued two helpline numbers. The numbers are +977 9851316807 or +977 9709107500.
Pritish Panda has been appointed as Odisha’s nodal officer to coordinate assistance and information regarding missing tourists. People in Odisha seeking information or assistance can contact him at +91-9583321964.
Odisha CM Mohan Majhi expressed his grief on X and wrote, “My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nepal as they face the impact of the ongoing floods. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and pray for the safety and well-being of everyone affected. Odisha stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal in this difficult hour. May Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath bless all those affected with strength and resilience, and protect the brave personnel engaged in rescue and relief operations.”
It is worth mentioning here that India has promised all possible help to Nepal. PM Modi talked to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and said on X, “Spoke to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and conveyed condolences on the loss of lives due to the floods in Nepal. The people of India stand in solidarity with their sisters and brothers in Nepal at this difficult time. India is ready to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal. Our teams are coordinating closely on rescue and relief efforts.”
According to the latest update, India has sent over 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Nepal to support relief efforts following devastating floods. More than 100 Indians have been reported to be missing in the flash floods.
