Low pressure in Andaman Sea

There has been a Low Pressure Area over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood. More rain is expected under the influence of this weather system.

The Low Pressure Area over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persisted over the same region at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 29th October 2026.

It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea around 31st October.

Thereafter, it is likely to intensify further and continue to move west-northwestwards towards Andhra Pradesh coast during subsequent 2 days.

Special Message with the next update about the Low Pressure Area over Andaman will be issued soon by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

If the next depression intensifies into a cyclone then it will be named as cyclone Murasu. A weatherman suggests to keep a close ‘cyclone watch’ on the East coast of India right from North Tamil Nadu till Odisha from November 2 to November 6.
