Hundreds of school students stranded in a school building in Kendrapara district of Odisha due to flash floods. Reports say that, water rushed into the ashram school. Due to the sudden flooding, the children were unable to escape outside.

According to available reports, hundreds of school students stranded in Pattamundai area of Kendrapara as flood waters from Bramhani river suddenly rushed into school premises. It is estimated that there were more than 300 children in the school when the incident happened.

Further it is worth mentioning that, the villagers are continuing their efforts to rescue the trapped students. The government authorities have reached the spot.

The Deputy District Magistrate and the fire brigade have reached the spot and assessed the situation. The Deputy District Magistrate said that it will be known after assessing whether the students need be rescued or can continue to stay there. However, the teacher said that the school has all the facilities for the students along with enough food and drinking water.
