Low pressure over Bay of Bengal today, heavy rainfall is expected to occur for six days. A cyclone is active in the north-west Bay of Bengal and adjacent West Bengal-Bangladesh coast.
Under its influence, a low pressure will form in the same area today. Under the influence of the low pressure, the amount of rainfall will increase again in Odisha. The Regional Meteorological Center has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in various places till the September 3.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Kendrapara and Mayurbhanj districts today. Orange warning has been issued for these six districts. Similarly, yellow alert has been given to 18 districts for heavy rainfall. Red warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj district for heavy rainfall in the evening.
Meanwhile, Orange Warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal districts due to heavy to very heavy rainfall. Yellow Warning has been issued for all other districts due to the possibility of heavy rainfall.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till the August 31 as the sea will remain rough in the Odisha coast.
