Heavy rainfall in Odisha has been predicted by the Regional Meteorological Centre here in Bhubaneswar. The MeT has issued weather alerts for several districts of Odisha. This has been done due to a fresh low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
The department has issued a yellow warning to all districts and has cautioned about lightning. It has also alerted about thunderstorm and moderate to heavy rainfall in almost all districts.
The MeT due to the likely heavy rain in Odisha has advised people to remain alert during the periods of heavy rain and check their routes before leaving for their destinations as heavy rain might cause water logging in low lying areas and near underpasses.
The rainfall is expected to continue under the influence of the fresh low pressure area over Bay of Bengal. Hence the authorities have advised people to follow safety instructions and stay updated with official forecasts.
