Ganja smuggling in Bhubaneswar has been busted on Saturday, the unique manner of transport has shocked the police. The ganja was being transported by people dressed as kanwariyas.
According to reports, ganja smuggling in Bhubaneswar has been detected and the racket has been busted. The two peddlers arrested were dressed as Kanwariyas (people who take a journey on foot in Shravan and pour water on Lord Shiva to appease him).
Further, the arrested duo looked suspicious to the team and during the inspection, 60 kgs of ganja was seized from the vehicle. The two accused were produced in court. Both accused are said to be from Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.
In another separate incident in Bhubaneswar, country liquor was being transported in a milk van. The vehicle was intercepted near Xavier Square in Bhubaneswar when it was enroute Patia. Further details awaited.
