A major drug racket busted in Khurda by police on Tuesday said reports from official sources. The police has seized 60 kilograms of ganja and 110 bottles of illegal cough syrup. The vehicle in which the drug peddlers were travelling was intercepted and checked on National Highway No. 57.
The drug racket busted in Khurda comes as a major success to the police. Reports say that three women were travelling by a car with the drugs ad there were two other men who were reportedly escorting them on a bike.
Finding them to be suspicious, they were intercepted. This proved to be a major success as huge amount of drugs and a major cache of cough syrup was recovered by the police. The contrabands were carefully hidden in the car. Along with detaining the people involved in transporting the drugs, the police has seized the car and the bike. The police will question the detained persons and try to find a link to the larger interstate network.
This comes as a major success to the police and right when PM Narendra Modi has launched the anti drug campaign called the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva Abhiyaan’.
