Keeping in mind the probable cyclone in Odisha, a warning has been issued by the MeT Department in Bhubaneswar specifically for fishermen.
Fishermen Warning
East central and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal from 20th till 22nd September. West central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and along & off Andhra Pradesh-Odisha-West Bengal coasts from 22nd till 24th September.
The fishermen are advised to return to coasts by the 21st evening.
Wind Warning due to likely cyclone in Odisha
Squally weather with wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over East central and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal on 21st and becoming 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph over Central Bay of Bengal and 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph adjoining areas of north and south Bay of Bengal on 22nd September.
Increasing further is likely to become 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph over West central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal on 23rd September and prevail till 24th evening.
Squally wind with speed reaching 55-65 kmph is likely along & off south Odisha- north Andhra Pradesh coasts on 23rd and likely to prevail till 24th September evening.
Sea Conditions Likely to be Rough
Sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough over east central and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal on 21st, over central Bay of Bengal on 22nd and over West central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and along and off north Andhra Pradesh-Odisha-West Bengal coasts till 24th September.
