According to the latest cyclone Arnab update, red alert has been issued for South Odisha. The MeT has predicted heavy to very rain in most parts of Odisha.
As an important cyclone Arnab update, the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has issued district wise red, orange and yellow warnings for the next three days. Especially, more than 20 centimeters of rainfall is possible in some places in south and south-west Odisha.
Red warning has been issued for Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput districts today. Very heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in some areas of these districts. Orange warning has been issued for Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri. Thunderstorms may occur in many districts of coastal and north Odisha with wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph.
The deep depression is intensifying at a monstrous pace and is advancing forward at a speed of 5 km per hour. According to data as of 8:30 AM it is centered approximately 60 km to the southeast from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and 150 km to the south from Gopalpur.
Further report say that, it is moving towards the west-northwest direction. By tonight that is the September 23, there is a possibility of crossing near Kalingapatnam. An area between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur, over the North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coast in the form of a deep depression.
