BMC raid in Bhubaneswar yet again. The Food Safety Team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has conducted checking at hotels, eateries and food establishments across the Unit-2 area. During the inspections, major lapses in hygiene and food safety standards were observed.

A total of six establishments were raided, with approximately 40 kg of stale and expired food being destroyed. At a popular retail mart, around 30 kg of frozen expired food products were seized. While in the BMC raid expired food products of various brands were also destroyed on the spot. Further, a fine of Rs. 1 lakh was imposed on the outlet for the violations.

It is worth mentioning here that, the BMC teams have been regularly conducting raids across the city to ensure food safety, maintain hygiene standards and safeguard public health. There has been a regular practice of strict surveillance and enforcement.
