Low pressure in Odisha to bring heavy rain. The active low pressure area on the West Bengal-Bangladesh coast of the northeast Bay of Bengal is slowly intensifying.
Amid the flood situation in the state, the low pressure in Odisha has increased the fear yet again. A prominent and well-marked low pressure area is expected to form within 12 hours and a depression in the next 24 hours. Heavy rain is expected in various parts of the state due to the low pressure.
An alert has been issued for the possibility of heavy rain for five days due to the low pressure. A red warning has been issued to Balasore and Bhadrak districts due to heavy rain today. Similarly, an orange warning has been issued to eight other districts for heavy to very heavy rain and a yellow warning has been issued to nine districts for heavy rain. The Regional Meteorological Center has issued a red alert for Keonjhar and an orange alert to nine districts for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, people are still suffering from flood-like situation in many places. Acres of land has been damaged and many houses have been destroyed. Crops have been badly affected as the fields remain submerged. The fresh rain alert has added to the woes of the people.
