In a tragic incident, there has been a Kanwariya accident in Odisha and as many as 13 of them have been injured. The Kanwariya accident in Odisha has taken place in Chatrapur area of Ganjam district on Sunday.
According to reports, a Tata Ace was filled with Kanwariyas when it suddenly lost balance and overturned near Chatrapur. As many as 13 people have been injured in the accident.
According to information available, 13 people had gone from Jagdalpur in a Tata Ace to the Rusikulya river in Ganjam to fetch water. They were supposed to perform puja and pour water on Lord Shiva Shaiva Peetha in Ahaleswar in Ganjam block.
All of a sudden, the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned and all 13 of them were injured. The locals immediately rescued them and admitted him to Chatrapur Medical College for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver’s condition is said to be critical and he has been shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Further detailed reports awaited.
*It is worth clarifying here that, Kanwariyas are people who take a journey on foot in the holy month of Shravan and pour water on Lord Shiva to appease him.
