There has been a lightning death in Odisha on Sunday, said reports. A farmer has reportedly been killed on the spot and three others have been critically injured. The incident of the lightning death in Odisha has occurred in Angul district at Nathapasi village under Pallahara police limits.
In the tragic incident, the farmer was hit by a lightning strike when he was working in the field. It is further worth mentioning here that, as many as three others have been critically injured in the same village due to the severe thunderstorm and lightning in Angul district.
Reports say that, more than ten people were working in the agriculture fields when a major thunderstorm and lightning hit the area. The farmer was hit by a lightning strike all of a sudden and died on the spot. Three others were critically injured.
The villagers immediately rushed to the spot and called the ambulance. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital. They are being treated. It is worth mentioning that during this time of the year lightning death in Odisha is common.
Even if the MeT department sounds alerts, people ignore it and venture to work in fields. This leads to deaths. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
