There are signs of a cyclone in Odisha as the the weather in the Bay of Bengal is all set to change yet again. There is an active cyclone in the North Andaman Sea and its surrounding areas. It is reported to have spread up to a height of about 5.8 km above sea level.
Under the influence of this depression, a low pressure area is likely to form by the September 11. It may form near the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha adjacent to the West-Central and North-West Bay of Bengal.
As a result, rain bearing clouds may form over the Bay of Bengal and the amount of rainfall may increase in some parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. A cyclone in Odisha is likely! However, the direction in which the low pressure will move after the formation of the depression and how strong it will be will be more clear from the subsequent weather reports.
Now the focus is on the weather change from the Andaman Sea towards the Bay of Bengal. The profile of the possible low pressure will become clearer in the next few days. While light to moderate rain may occur in most places, heavy rain up to 100 mm may occur in some places in 24 hours.
It is further worth mentioning that weather experts are also predicting the formation of another low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal between September 17 to September 20.
