Rain alert for Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand also. Due to which there is a fear of floods again in Odisha.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain with thunder in some parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand today. Rain alert for Odisha has been issued.
Along with this, heavy to very heavy rain is expected over the weekend. If there is heavy rain in the upper catchment area, the water level in the rivers of the bordering districts of Odisha is expected to rise yet again.
Due to the heavy rain in the neighboring state of Jharkhand, the water level of the Subarnarekha river in Odisha is flowing above the danger mark as flood water is being discharged from the Galudih barrage in Jharkhand through 13 gates.
On the other hand, Hirakud is releasing flood water through four gates. The water level of the Hirakud reservoir is currently 627.18 feet. 1 lakh 49 thousand 936 cusecs of water is entering every second. Along with this, 67 thousand 349 cusecs of water is being discharged.
