Following the Colombo Test Clash, ICC has fined players Yashasvi Jaiswal, Asitha Fernando 25 percent of their match fees. Reliable reports said that, the fine was imposed due to the violation of ICC code of conduct on the field during the test match in Colombo.
ICC said, “India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka bowler Asitha Fernando have been sanctioned by the ICC following their incident on the opening day of the second ICC World Test Championship fixture in Colombo.”
Reports say ICC fines Yashasvi Jaiswal, Asitha Fernando after they were involved in a clash on field. In an official statement issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) it said that the players had violated Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.
The article says, “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match).”
As a result, ICC fines Yashasvi Jaiswal and Asitha Fernando. They were fined 25 per cent of their match fee and were handed one demerit point each.
