Foreign ship arrested in Paradip of Odisha after the High Court ordered arrest of “MT Unit”. Hearing a maritime case, the High Court has ordered the arrest of the foreign ship “MT Unit” in Paradip.
Hearing a case filed by Soglasi Insurance Limited Company, Justice V. Narsingh of the High Court gave this order.
According to the information available, Soglasi Insurance Company had spent more than Rs 3 crores on the remaining salaries of the ship’s employees and the supply of necessary equipment for the ship’s operation.
The company demanded the payment of this amount from the ship’s owner. But the ship’s owner could not pay it for a long time. Soglasi Insurance Limited Company approached the High Court regarding this.
The High Court considered the petition and found the remaining amount claim acceptable, so the court ordered the ship to be arrested. However, as this case has no connection with the cargo on board, the work of unloading the cargo from the ship is underway. Further details awaited.
