In a shocking incident, yet another youth jumps into Daya river in Bhubaneswar after parking autorickshaw on Bankual bridge. According to reports, there was a domestic dispute between the youth and his wife yesterday evening.
It is suspected that Sanjay lost his mental stability and took such an extreme step. The autorickshaw was seen parked on the Bankual bridge and slippers were seen lying near it.
Reports say that, the Balianta police reached the spot and seized the autorickshaw. Upon checking, it was found that the vehicle was registered in the name of Laxmipriya Mohapatra.
Furthermore, the police are also investigating whether the youth actually jumped into the river or left the vehicle in an intoxicated state and went to the river bed and is resting. The fire brigade team is conducting an extensive search in the river with the help of boats.
Recently on September 6, a similar incident had taken place at the same spot. Another youth had reportedly jumped from the same bridge on the Tankapani road in Ravi Talkes area. Rescue operations were carried out for a youth who jumped into the water from the Bankual Bridge.
The locals immediately informed the police and the fire department. On receiving the news, the Bhubaneswar and Balianta fire brigades reached the spot and launched a search and rescue operation.
The youth had been identified as a resident of Barik Sahi in Old Town area. However, the youth’s whereabouts have not been found yet. The family however remains hopeful. Details awaited.
