A suspect held in Pulwama was found possessing hand grenade, anti-national posters and other incriminating material. He was held through a joint operation involving the Pulwama Police, 44 Rashtriya Rifles (Army) and the 183 Battalion CRPF.

Reports say the joint operation team recovered one hand grenade, three anti-national posters, and one mobile phone from the suspect held in Pulwama. It is worth mentioning here that the suspect was apprehended during a naka checking.

According to ANI, “The joint naka was established on the Drabgam–Pachar Road. During checking, a suspicious person approaching from Drabgam towards Pachar attempted to flee on noticing the naka. However, the alert naka party swiftly chased and apprehended him near the Fruit Mandi on Pachar Road.”

Further, the accused was identified as Tousef Ahmad Dar S/o Abdul Hameed Dar R/o Drabgam Payeen. Accordingly, FIR No. 107/2026 under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 23 & 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has been registered at Police Station Rajpora.

Further, an investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the recovered material and identify any further linkages.

Notably, the checking and blocking in the area has been intensified after a recent terrorist attack in which two migrant workers from Chhattisgarh were gunned down.
