President to visit Odisha today said reliable reports. The first citizen of the country Droupadi Murmu will reach Bhubaneswar today and then is scheduled to travel to a number of places across Odisha.
According to a press release posted by the President’s Secretariat on August 2 her schedule will be as follows, “The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha from 3 to 5 August, 2026.”
The press release further informed, “On August 3, the President will inaugurate the Jagadguru Kripalu University at Cuttack. (And the) On August 4, the President will take a train journey from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur and perform darshan and aarti at Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple and Shiva Temple at Taptapani. And then on August 5 she is scheduled to fly back to Delhi marking an end to her three-day journey to her home State.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit of Droupadi Murmu to Odisha. Around 40 platoons of police and nearly 150 officers have been deployed in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Police Commissioner S Devadutta Singh addressed the media on President to visit Odisha and said, a comprehensive security, traffic management, and logistical arrangements have been made to ensure the President’s safe movement.
Reports further add, traffic regulation, surveillance and other security measures have been intensified to ensure the smooth conduct of the President’s engagements.
It is worth mentioning here that the Ganjam District collector Keerthi Vasan V has declared Berhampur to be a “No Flying Zone/No Drone Zone” in view of the President visit to Odisha. The President is likely to stay at Berhampur before returning to Bhubaneswar by train on August 5 and flying back to New Delhi.
A notice in this regard by the DCP traffic Bhubaneswar-Kataka read as follows, “This is to inform the general public and commuters that the Hon’ble President of India will be visiting Odisha from 3rd August, 2026 to 5th August, 2026, to attend various programmes at Bhubaneswar and Kataka.”
Further the notice added, “Keeping in view of the safety of the dignitary and to ensure better regulation and free flow of traffic in both the Twin Cities, in the interest of general public, by virtue of power conferred on me u/s 28 of Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007) and in pursuance of Regulation 36 of Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulation, 2008, the following restrictions are imposed:”
