Youth climbs to the top of Puri Srimandir, shocks locals and devotees. The incident has been reported on late Monday night. The youth was later overpowered and detained by the police.
According to reports, the youth climbed up to the ‘Anlabeda’, a structure inside the Puri Jagannath Temple, before being spotted by the security personnel. After a long drama, the youth was brought down by the police.
However, the identity of the youth is still unclear, inquiries are being made to find out who he is and where he belongs too. However, questions have been raised about how the youth managed to climb atop the Puri Srimandir in spite of the heavy security cordon.
In 2025, two devotees in two separate incidents had climbed atop the Puri Srimandir and created a ruckus. One was an old man from Bhadrak. Another was a devotee from Uttar Pradesh. People had questioned the security arrangement of the temple back then.
With this incident, yet again questions have been raised about the security arrangements of the Jagannath Temple. The safety of the devotees is also being questioned.
