There has reportedly been a leopard attack in Boudh district of Odisha and this has lead to panic among villagers. The leopard reportedly killed a cow in the area. The incident has been reported from Samakupa village under Kantamala forest range in Boudh district.
According to reports, the cow was grazing near the village when the leopard attacked and killed it. This incident has created panic among the villagers. They immediately informed the forest department. The forest department team reached the spot and started investigation.
They examined the pugmarks and found them to be that of a leopard. The department has sounded an alert in the village and asked people not to venture out near the forest at night. They have requested the villagers to be more vigilant to prevent such leopard attack in Boudh.
It is worth mentioning here that, spotting of leopards in Boudh near the human settlements has now become common due to decrease in forest cover. The wild animals get confused and head towards the human settlements in search of food.
