There has been a landslide in Nepal in which as many as 24 people have been killed an 14 are missing.
According to reports, after three days of heavy rain, a hillside collapsed into Nepal’s Kali Gandaki River on 27–28 September 2026.
Reports further add that, at least 24 people were killed and 14 still remain missing. Homes, roads and bridges were damaged, and about 1,500 people were displaced, mainly in Gandaki Province.
An entire mountainside gave way in seconds, sending millions of tons of debris crashing down the valley. The sheer scale is hard to comprehend. The scene of the collapse seems straight out of a Hollywood calamity movie.
The landslide is said to have disrupted the flow of the Kali Gandaki River. On the other hand continuous rainfall has increased the risk of floods, landslides and river erosion.
Authorities warned of heightened flood risks downstream. Emergency response efforts are underway as authorities assess the damage and search for those affected.
However it is worth mentioning here that authorities have not confirmed the total number of fatalities or people missing.
