There has been a fire in Gujarat in an important Government building. The said fire broke out in the basement of Gandhinagar Secretariat Block No. 9 before office hours.
According to reports, in the fire in Gujarat that took place in the Secretariat building occurred in the early hours of morning and was detected at around 9 am. The fire team as immediately informed and it sprung into action.
Sources say, the fire brigade teams deployed 20 personnel who managed to bring the blaze under control. However the cooling operations are being continued. Work is being done slowly amid heavy smoke, as it is the basement and there is no outlet.
A record room located in the basement of the Secretariat was completely reduced to ashes. Smoke could be seen bellowing out of the basement. Sources say that in the fire in Gujarat the extent of damage to documents and property has not been assessed yet.
