There is a major discussion relating to another cyclone in Odisha. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over North Thailand on extending up to 9.4 kilometres above sea level.
Reports further add that, it is likely to emerge over the North Andaman Sea around the evening of September 26. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same region around the evening of September 27. However, nothing is clear about another cyclone in Odisha yet.
Furthermore, sources say that the government of Odisha is prepared for any eventuality and is keeping a close watch on the movement of the cyclonic circulation that is currently hovering near Thailand.
Prediction of Another Cyclone in Odisha!
According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone is likely to move slowly towards the west. Today, it may reach the North Andaman Sea and the adjoining Irrawaddy region of Myanmar. After the cyclone reaches the Andaman Sea, its further track and intensity will be monitored.
It will be important to note whether it moves towards the Bay of Bengal or not and whether it forms a new weather system in the future. However, the current information does not say that this cyclone will form a low pressure or a cyclone.
Therefore, no conclusion should be drawn about another cyclone in Odisha from now on. The track and possible impact of this system will be more clear from the next update of the Meteorological Department.
The Government is taking stock of the situation every hour. It is also waiting for the final assessment by the IMD for the cyclone in Odisha. Discussions have been held with IMD officials and their regional representatives in Odisha.
On the other hand, all District Collectors have been directed to remain fully prepared to face any kind of situation. The State plans to open more cyclone shelters so that people can be easily shifted in times of calamities.
