All the schools closed in Keonjhar district of Odisha. The categories include Primary and Upper Primary Schools, High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools including Government, Government Aided, OAVs, Private schools under Mayurbhanj District will be closed.
The Keonjhar district administration has directed all Block Education Officials (BEOs) to close the schools today that is on August 17 due to heavy rain in the district.
The official X post by the Collector and District Magistrate, Kendujhar read as follows, “The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red warning for Kendujhar district tomorrow (17 August) due to the possibility of heavy rainfall. The district administration has advised the general public not to undertake unnecessary travel. The District Collector has directed that all educational institutions and anganwadi centers in the district remain closed.”
It is worth mentioning that, heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in Odisha due to a fresh low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
