Woman drowns in pond in Koraput district of Odisha. Reports say that the chappals of the woman was found on the river banks.
According to reports, a woman drowns in pond in Koraput. The sad incident has taken place in Lamtaput area of Koraput. Janmati Sisa of Kadrimaliput village of Lamtaput block had gone to the pond for her daily chores as usual.
Reports say that she lost balance and slipped into the pond and fell into deep water. As Janmati did not return home for a long time, her family searched for her here and there. Then, they found her chappals lying on the bank of the pond, they informed the Lamtaput fire department.
The fire brigade rescued Janmati from the pond and admitted her to the Lamtaput community health center (CHC). The doctor of the community health center declared the woman brought dead. The Lamtaput police reached the spot and started an investigation into the cause of the woman’s death.
