ITBP recruitment 2026: Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) is a Central Armed Police Force functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The ITBPF was raised on 24th October, 1962, and is a border guarding police force specializing in high altitude operations.
Applications are invited from Indian Citizens (Male and Female) for appointment to Group ‘A’ post of Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command), Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant) and Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) in Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB) & Assam Rifles, Ministry of Home
Affairs, Government of India.
On joining, a candidate shall be governed by the Act and Rules,
as amended from time to time, applicable to the organization to which he/she is allotted after selection.
Selected candidates will be liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad as per requirements of service. On appointment, the candidates shall be entitled for the pension benefits as per the ‘New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme’ applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government Services w.e.f. 01.01.2004.

A total of 282 posts have been advertised for.
Educational Qualification and Age
Educational Qualification: For all the posts a graduate degree in Medicine (M.B.B.S.) or equivalent from a recognized university/Institution included in the first schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Should be enrolled in any State Medical Register maintained under the Act, and should have completed compulsory rotating internship.

Age Limit: The age limit for recruitment of Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command) should not be exceeding 50 years as on the closing date of receipt application. The age limit for recruitment of Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant) should not be exceeding 40 years as on the closing date of receipt of application. The age limit for recruitment of Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) should not be exceeding 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of application

Selection Procedure
Candidates, whose online applications are found in order, will be issued e-admit card mentioning date, time and venue for ‘Documentation & Interview’ by a designated Board of Officers at the designated centers followed by Physical Standard Tests (PST)
and Medical Examination Tests (MET), to assess their suitability for appointment in CAPFs & AR.

Salary for the post of MO under ITBP Recruitment 2026
For Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command) the pay scale will be Rs. 78,800 – 2,09,200 per month plus other benefits. For Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant) the salary shall be Rs. 67,700 – 2,08,700 per month plus other benefits. On the other hand for Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant) the salary shall be Rs. 56,100-1,77,500 per month plus other benefits.
Application Fees and Important Dates
Fees: Male candidates belonging to General (UR), OBC and EWS category applying for recruitment to the above posts need to pay Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four Hundred only) as application fee through
online payment gateway system received with any other mode of the payment will be summarily rejected.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
