snakebite deaths in gajapati

There has been two snakebite deaths in Gajapati district of Odisha. A mother and her boy breathed their last on Friday as a snake bit them. This tragic incident has been reported from Kadambatal village of Rayagada block, Gajapati.

According to reports, the deaceased woman has been identified as Lalita, she was the wife of Ajay Kumar. She and her seven-year-old son died. However the husband and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter survived.

It has been reported that the incident happened while they were sleeping at night. The snake entered the house and bit the mother and son. Ajay woke up hearing the two of them scream in pain. The family members immediately rescued both of them and admitted them to the Rayagada Community Health Center (CHC).

However, as their condition became critical, they were shifted to the Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). The mother and son died there while undergoing treatment. After this incident, a pall of gloom has spread in the entire village of Kadambatal.
