Ravana Podi in Cuttack
Reports say that this will be the 36th Ravana Podi festival in Cuttack. An 80-foot Ravana effigy will be burnt at the lower Balijatra grounds. Ravana Dahan in Cuttack will be held at midnight.
The celebration will mark the triumph of righteousness over evil. Special arrangements have been made for the seating of 10,000 spectators.
According to reports, BJP State President Manmohan Samal is scheduled to attend the event in Cuttack as the chief guest.
Ravana Podi in Bhubaneswar
Ravana Podi in Bhubaneswar to be held at nine locations informs Commissionerate Police several safety arrangements have been made for the Ravana Podi or Ravana Dahan.
The Ravana Podi event will be celebrated throughout Bhubaneswar. Nine locations for nine organisers. Permissions have been given and a detailed SOP has been issued to them regarding the distance of the crowd from the Ravan Podi.
A few guidelines are as follows: It has to be a minimum of 100 meters all around the Ravan Podi. A minimum of 100 meters has to be maintained and it has to be barricaded.
One fire team has been requisitioned for each location, and along with this, a force has been given for crowd control. Every location will be given at least two platoons of force based on the crowd that is about to be gathered.
Furter, after Ravan Podi, there is Visarjan Utsav on the last day, that is on October 22. The idols of the Goddess will gather at a designated point. From there they will be transported to the earmarked immersion sites.
Traffic restrictions have been put in place. The people of Bhubaneswar travelling to the city have been advised to check the route chart and then plan accordingly.
