At least 14 devotees have reportedly been killed and around 50 injured in the Gwalior truck accident. Reports say, the tragedy occurred after a speeding truck ploughed into a crowd near Sheetla Mata temple.
According to reports, the truck reportedly rammed into several roadside shops before crashing into the temple’s entrance gate. This caused a wall to collapse and led to burying devotees under the debris. The tragic Gwalior temple tragedy incident occurred around 1:30 am, triggering panic in the area.
The accident also damaged several shops and two-wheelers parked in the area. An investigation is underway to determine who allowed the truck to enter the area, which is generally closed to heavy vehicles during Navratri.
Locals demanded compensation for the victims’ families, free treatment for the injured and strict action against those responsible.
