The curtains have been drawn on the President visit to Odisha on Wednesday as she flew back safely to Delhi. The Indian President Droupadi Murmu was on a three-day visit to her home state. During her short stay she attended a number of programs spanning across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur. She also offered prayers at three famous temples.
Upon her arrival in Bhubaneswar on August 3, President Droupadi Murmu was extended a warm welcome by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Later in the day she inaugurated the Jagadguru Kripalu University in Cuttack. She then spent the night at the Raj Bhawan or Governor House in Bhubaneswar.
Then the President travelled by the ‘President Special Train’ from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur amid tight security arrangements. Then in Berhampur she travelled for 80 kms by road to Taptapani and offered prayers, performed darshan and aarti at Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple and Shiva Temple at Taptapani.
Later she travelled to the Army camp Golabandha near Gopalpur area of Ganjam. In the morning today that is on August 5 she offered prayers at the Lord Dhabaleshwar temple in Berhampur. She then returned to Bhubaneswar by train, rested and flew back to Delhi in a special Army Aircraft.
